Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director, to perform a variety of tasks including the development, implementation, and direction of recreation programming for all age groups of the community. Assignments include developing and monitoring of program budgets, working with the Park and Recreation Commission and other adhere groups that focus on community recreational needs, generation of reports, analyzing program activities and maintaining a positive public image for department activities.
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited institution in leisure services, community recreation, sports management or physical education education is required. Ability to become licensed as a certified pool operator (CPO), lifeguard training within one year, certified in first aid and CPR. Experience in a municipal/institutional recreation setting recommended.
Compensation
Salary range for this position is $29,300 to $44,000. A competitive benefit package includes health, dental, life and short-term disability insurance.

Job Summary
Directs the operations, development and maintenance of municipal parks, golf courses, public property, forsetry, centralized building maintenance, aquatics, athletics, and other recreational programs including master planning, new property and equipment acquisition. Also, administers contract between the City and the Mid-America Center Arena and Convention Center.
Requirements
Undergraduate degree in park management, recreation, public administration, or related field with 5 years progressively responsible experience in management of parks and recreation programs, facilities and staff.
Compensation

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in park, forestry, recreation administration, public administration or a related field. Two years progressively responsible experience preferred.
Duties: Responsible for the operational management of the City Recreation Department. Plans, develops, manages and corrdinates recreational programs for the city and surrounding area. Interviews, hires and supervises part-time employees. Provides education and information to the public regarding department activities. Develops and maintains partnerships with organizations and businesses involved in park and recreation programs and projects. Managers the department online registration system. Responsibile for the department's material on the city web page. Assists in developing and implementing annual budget for the recreation department for the recreation department including expenditures, capital improvement projects. Assists with developing and implementing long-range capital improvement plan for the department. Manages and operates the city outdoor pool and operates the pool in the city indoor aquatic center. It is very important that this person have a demonstrated record of success at bringing diverse individuals, groups and organizations together to accomplish projects.
Salary: $42,255.17 minimum
